Because of Winn-Dixie
It is very good and peaceful story. Opal shows a lot of love to the random dog that messes up Winn-Dixie, the grocery market. She loves the neighbor who wanted the dog out of the town. Even the "criminal" who was jailed for making money out of playing guitar in the park.(while he was playing for pleasure, not to make money) She makes a lot of other friends that are adults. She opened the party for them. It starts to rain and there is the big problem!!!

Did you know that there's a movie for this book? It's O-K although everyone in my class were bored to death when we had to watch this movie!
ReplyDeleteI know why your class was bored to death. I am a kid too. Us kids like actions. Not that peace-out things.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a bias against Kate DiCamillo's books, but don't like them. The endings are too... weird.
ReplyDeleteBUT STILL.... EVEN THE GIRLS THOUGHT THE STORY OF THE BOOK WAS DULL. IT WAS PROBABLY THE WORST BOOK WE EVER READ IN FOURTH GRADE!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm the other way around. I think that "because Of Winn-Dixie" is a GREAT book. Even though there is not much action, it is fun. The ending to me is clear. The ending is that when the storm happened, Winn- Dixie who is tempered by Lightning runs away. Later Opal and her dad went to find him, but they don't find him so they come back. When they come back to their house, the party member sings along with the guitar. Because of the music it attracted Winn-Dixie where the music was.-In their house! Then when he comes back they become happy again and live happy together again.
ReplyDeleteWell.. Duh! I read the book mind you! Well, good for you if you thought this book was fun. But if you thought it was fun, you should read "The Tiger Rising." It's a Kate DiCamillo's book. It's weird. But if you like Kate DiCamillo's style, it'll probably be fun for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading "the tiger rising". I'm on Ch.7. I'll tell you if it is weird or not after I read it in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI didn't feel any offensiveness from your comment. Believe it or not, I have a book I do not like but other people like it.
ReplyDeleteReally? Then.. I'd better delete that one.
